hi there guyss! On monday, we corrected the work sheet called "solubility equilibria assignment #3. And also, we looked at pages 36-37. We learned how to determine if a solution is saturated or unsaturated.
Remember guyyys!:
- Q-Ksp, the solution is just saturated and no ppt( no precipitation)
-Q> Kso, the solution is saturated and a ppt occurs.
- Q< Ksp, the solution is unsaturated and no ppt formed.

Today, all we just did was corrected all the assigned homework from ms. K.
If you flip over your notes, you'll see or should see a worksheet titled "Patterns in Electron Configuration"and also "Calculating Numbers of Electrons and Predicting Ionic Change".
And so here are the correct answers:
Patterns in Electron Configuration:
1. 1A, 2A
2. 3A, 4A, 5A, 6A, 7A and 8A
3. 1B -> 10B
4. Inner transition metals
5. period #= energy level of valence of electrons
6. period #3= 3rd energy level
7. period #4= energy level is 3 for d's
8. period #6= f orbitals is 4
period #7= f orbitals is 5
9. group number = # of valence electrons
e.i. group II a has 2 valence electron
Calculating #'s of Electrons and Predicting Ionic Change:
1. Na -> Na^+ 1e-
more positive charges than negative charges
2. 2e- + O -> O^2-
has two more electrons than protons
3. protons + electrons = ion charge
example: 5pt + 6 e- = -1
4.a. Beryllium (Be) = 1s^2, 2s^2
(Be^2+)= 1s^2
b. Flourine (F) = 1s^2, 2s^2, 2p^5
(F-) = 1s^2, 2s^2, 2p^6
c. Argon (Ar) = 1s^2, 2s^2, 2p^6, 3s^2, 3p^6
(doesn't bond as it has a stable bond)
d. Sulfur (S) = 1s^2, 2s^2, 2p^6, 3s^2,3p^4
(S^2-) = 1s^2, 2s^2, 2p^6, 3s^2, 3p^6
e. Sodium (Na)= 1s^2, 2s^2, 2p^6, 3s^1
(Na+) = 1s^2, 2s^2, 2p^6
f. Nitrogen (N) = 1s^2, 2s^2, 2p^3
(N^3-) = 1s^2, 2s^2, 2p^6
So this is pretty much it,i believe. Sorry about the errors you'll see, if there's any. If you do see an error please don't hesitate to correct me. So this is chemistry for this friday and for all you chemist students dont forget that we have a test this coming tuesday or wednesday i believe.
